The good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, I will be there! Here in the south, it is part of our heritage to tend to our manners, and that includes responding to invitations. It is simple, takes less than 5 minutes and shows our friends that we care about their get-together. There are only 3 things to remember when you RSVP to a party the southern way.
While in Charleston, SC recently, J and I were invited into the private homes of several residents. Well…. sort of. We purchased tickets to the Historic Charleston Foundation’s House and Garden Tour. Our tickets provided us entry into several homes where we were privileged to meet some of the owners. We were not permitted to take photos indoors, but we came home with lots of ideas and exterior shots to share with you.
I love my husband’s job! Yes, of course I love it for all the obvious reasons, but I also love it when he is offered a business trip to any of our wondrous southern cities. Because I get to go, too!! During a recent trip to Charleston, SC, we strolled through the historic district and enjoyed a few delicious meals in some of Charleston’s best restaurants.
I recently spent the most delightful 7 days in the enchanting city of Charleston, SC. Nicknamed “The Chuck,” the city exudes a sense of friendliness. Named after King Charles; it also has a sense of royalty and sophistication. It is perfectly fitting. There is history everywhere you look. The city is full of architecture. The lawns and gardens are beautiful and welcoming. And since the best southern hospitality involves good food, Charleston sets a delicious spread.
