Fashion Welcomes Pink and Blue Back from the 80’s
The Pantone color(s) of 2016 are Rose Quartz and Serenity. Here are a few examples of how fashion welcomes pink and blue back from the 80’s!
Pantone offers “a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.
For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

Ladies, my wish for you this year as you style yourself with these and other colors, is to be as serene as Jane Austen.
“I will be calm. I will be mistress of myself.

January 31, 2016 at 4:00 amThese are lovely shades. I wonder if these are reminiscent of the 80s when the “preppy style” of penny loafers and oxfords were so popular? I miss those days when dressing for work was like putting on a uniform!

January 31, 2016 at 1:58 pmKaryn, when I was at Auburn, the style was very preppy. I remember loving the look of sweaters tied around our neck, with penny loafers and plaid shorts. I think I may have had a pink sweater that was always handy to throw on with a pair of shorts. Budget was tight in those days, but even one outfit in this style made you feel like a million bucks.
